DailyTheocentrism:Its not sin, nor the devil we are saved from . . .

Its not sin, nor the devil we are saved from, rather the wrath of God toward sin; thus we are saved from God, by God. As stated in another post, it is God’s wrath toward the unnaturalness of sin that makes the issue. ff tells us that His wrath is revealed against the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men and that wrath brings about death () – by the way, death being the ultimate enemy, in the sense that it is the ultimate event of the result of sin (). Death is also the final battle/victory () . . . but, more on that later.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. (ESV)

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ESV)

17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (ESV)

54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)
