DailyTheocentrism: “So they will know that I AM the LORD”-in one statement both grace and judgement from God, depending on who it befalls.
This theme of the Book of Ezekiel has the same two-fold significance that any presentation of the Lord has – a judgment for those who do not know Him and more grace for those who do. The issue here is how one is related to Him. This is not a club, but an intimacy. We are not above others, but connected to Him who is above all. This is where the so-called “non-Lordship” guys really miss it – even those being judged know that He is the LORD.
“For I AM THE LORD your GOD”. (Lev. 11:44) You see, HE IS LORD. It’s an eternal fact! “I AM THE LORD” is quoted over 900 times in scripture. “The LORD IS our GOD, the LORD IS ONE (Duet. 6:4), and there IS NO OTHER!” (Is. 45:5) It’s not up for debate whether we in our crookedness think otherwise. If I don’t make Him LORD does NOT change the fact that HE IS LORD. The problem arises when I acknowledge Him as LORD and do not fulfill my part of the intimate relationship, which is SERVANT. If I call Him LORD truly, I automatically become servant, whether I realize or not. When I married my wife, I became husband. The question is, am I being obedient as the LORD’S servant? If not, He is NOT LORD, someone else is; but that other is no LORD at all because there is only one LORD, JESUS CHRIST. Jude 4 states that “ceratin persons have crept in who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our GOD into licentiousness and deny our ONLY Master AND LORD, Jesus Christ”. To deny Him as LORD is to call GOD a liar, for HE says over and over and over, “I AM THE LORD!” In the end, on that day, ALL will agree that HE IS LORD (something we know NOW), (Phil. 2:11) but for many it will be too late! They will be justly condemned for not acknowledging Him LORD in their hearts and lives during their short stay on earth. Therefore , why not take care of that eternal question today, “FOR HE IS WHAT HE SAYS HE IS – LORD!!!”
Amen, brother.
