Thank you for sharing this. I remember reading it when he was going on the sabbatical and it is even more powerful to me now. Yes, this matters a great deal.
Perhaps Bunyan had it right, contra today’s evangelicalism. Are we to believe that Jesus was serious when He described the gate as “narrow” and that “few” would walk through it? Not if you listen to American Churchianity, but certainly if you believe Scripture.
